Before settling in Hollywood Jann Turner directed South Africa’s award winning feature films WHITE WEDDING and PARADISE STOP.

White Wedding was selected as South Africa’s entry to the Best Foreign Picture category at the 2011 Academy Awards.

Turner has since directed the pilots for Netflix’s VIRGIN RIVER and Amazon’s JACK RYAN Season 3.

She served as Producing Director & Co-EP on Season 6 of 9-1-1 on FOX, Producing Director and Co-EP on the final season of Shondaland’s Scandal and Co-EP on Jack Ryan Season 4 Episodes 2 and 3.

Jann Turner has directed multiple episodes of Butterfly, The Waterfront, NCIS Origins, Jack Ryan, S.W.A.T., Seal Team, 9-1-1, The Resident, For Life, The Code, Filthy Rich, The Last Ship, Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, The Catch, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, Jane The Virgin, Grace and Frankie, Complications, The Fosters, Castle, Scorpion, Alpha House, Satisfaction, Virgin River, The Divide, Teen Wolf, The Neighbors, Save Me, The Big C, The Carrie Diaries, Emily Owens MD., Hard Copy, Isidingo, Zero Tolerance & Mzansi.

For two years Turner was on-air producer for SABC TV&’s Truth Commission Special Report.

She has made documentaries for C4UK and eTV South Africa.

Her published novels are Home Is Where You Find It, Heartland and Southern Cross.

Her first job out of university was as the receptionist at Working Title Films, London.

Jann Turner was born in France, raised in South Africa and educated in Britain. She is an American, British and South African citizen who resides permanently in Los Angeles.

She received a B.A.Hons in Politics and Philosophy from Oxford University and an M.F.A from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
